Relationships and Couples Counselling

You might feel unheard, find that the same arguments repeat or be unsure what you want from a relationship. Difficulties can involve a partner, family member or friend, including relationships you care about deeply.

Needs, boundaries and recurring patterns

In individual counselling we can explore your needs, expectations, boundaries and responses to conflict. There is room to consider what you want to communicate and what feels possible, without assuming reconciliation or separation is the right outcome.

Couples counselling is also available, with 60-minute sessions. If fear, control or abuse is part of what is happening, we will consider safety and whether specialist support is needed rather than treating this simply as a communication problem.

Coming to counselling together

You may want to understand why conversations turn into arguments, talk about feeling distant or find a way to discuss changes in your relationship. There is room for each of you to explain your experience without being expected to agree on everything.

We can look at recurring patterns, what happens when either of you feels unheard and how to express needs and boundaries more clearly. Counselling offers space to consider what you both want, without assuming that staying together or separating is the right outcome.

What to expect

We begin by discussing what has brought you both to counselling and what you hope might change. We will agree how sessions work, including confidentiality and how each person can take part. You do not need a prepared account of your relationship.
